Short Stories

Alaska Quarterly Review is celebrating 35 years with its 35th issue. This wonderful review still publishes most of its work from unsolicited submissions. I can speak from experience on this. I'm an outsider--a fiction writer who's not a product of a writing program nor any sort of establishment figure in literature or literature studies. (The same is true of my place in philosophy--but that's another story.) And yet Alaska Quarterly Review has published four of my stories over some twenty some odd years. I've included three of them here. Please check out this extremely interesting magazine (and subscribe to it, if you can).

(By the way, I'll replace these stories with other ones January 1st, 2018.)
