Mindfulness. It's getting popular. It's seen as a good thing. Mentally healthy. Enabling the perception of micro-expressions. Lowering blood pressure. It's a kind of mental exercise that's supposed to be good for us. And maybe it is, maybe it does all that. But there's this other perspective. And maybe it's got validity too. (That's the way some people talk: they say "maybe that's got validity too.") It's a funny way to use "validity."
This is how it must be seen: As a whole,
a season intrinsically gestalt:
four-dimensional in impact.
It is hard to remember this
as the bleeding now rushes by, as we total
momentary loss in backward glancings.
It is a diffuse God we live within
not to an afterlife, but in every present
there and then always.
